Feel Good About Yourself by Donating

A customer of ours in Cyprus has a son who's enrolled in an amazing project called Global Exchange. In short, this will be a life changing experience for all involved. We have the opportunity to help this particular young man live the experience.

Here is a description of the project in his words :

"In October 2006, I will be beginning a project with the Voluntary Services Overseas, the British Council and the British Airport Authority. The project goal is based around cross-cultural solutions and community. The idea, in basic terms, is that living in a new community in random places around the globe, will improve understanding, tolerance and peace. This applies to both the UK and the host community.

Specifically, I will be spending three months in Selby, near York, from October 2006-December 2006. I will be sharing the experience with a South African counterpart, in a team of 18 people. In York, our work will cover everything from HIV/Aids education, race awareness, participation and improving quality of life.

After this part of the project, I will be flying to Queenstown in South Africa. Queenstown has about 80,000 residents, and almost one in five of the population have HIV.

Alongside my counterparts and other UK volunteers, we will be trying to learn and teach all at the same time. Our work could involve anything from work placements in orphanages and HIV/Aids clinics, to visiting schools with the local press for cross-cultural solutions.

I will try to spare the massive amount of details for this page. Anyone wishing to find out more can email me on wordtothegreek@yahoo.co.uk or check out www.vso.org.uk for the Global Xchange project. Alternatively, please email me your number or address, and I will endeavour to give a many details as possible.

VSO are paying for this trip. The cost is over £6000 per person going. I have been asked to help fundraise a minimum £600 of this money, which, I hope you agree, is a paltry sum of money for such an incredible cause.

Now, here be the business.... HELP ME! HELP VSO! HELP THE GLOBAL XCHANGE! HELP THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD UNDERSTAND EACHOTHER BETTER! HELP EASE YOUR GULITY MINDS!

Whatever the reason, now matter how small the amount, I am asking you to donate to this cause. I will be happy to report back to anyone who wants to know more.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Voluntary Service Overseas will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support."

If you have the means, we would greatly appreciate any donations made to this cause from our customers. Make sure you put "magic" somewhere in your name so he knows it's the magic community that's supporting his venture.

The website to read more about it and make a donation is http://www.justgiving.com/communitypeace

Many thanks to all who can help.

Kind regards-
Steve

Chop Cups, Packet Tricks, and Leather

In the last week, we've added quite a few solid items to the store that might be of interest to all of you out there! The Morrissey Chop Cups came in and they are exactly what we expected. Great chop cups in 4 variations, 2 large cups (copper and aluminum), and 2 pocket cups (copper and aluuminum). They just work. The balls stick when they should and dislodge when they should, and the best feature is that you won't go broke buying them. They are very reasonably priced.

Gordon Bean's Entourage is just in and we think it's going to be a big seller. Very nice effect, very well thought out and perfect for any ocassion. Best part- no false counts, no hard core sleights needed.

What would you carry Entourage in? Why of course, one of Jerry O'Connell's packet trick holders made from real leather! For less than $10 each, you get a great way to carry your packet tricks instead of the typical plastic wallets so many are shipped with. They will give you the look of class you were looking for when presenting any packet tricks.

That's it for the update today. Don't overlook any of the mentioned items, they are all worthy of being in your routine, whether in a restaurant, at the magic club, or for family and friends.

Have a look at Magicpitch.com for details on all of these products.
